Posted: November 25, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentNext Thursday we have a new event called Payback which is a FREE to entry poetry/comedy/live music show. If you have been to Live Wednesdays or Live Fridays, then you know that you are in for a great night of entertainment.
The show takes place in the heart of Camden at Bar Solo, 20 Inverness Street, Camden Town, NW1 7HJ.
We have a full line of performers including your host the hilarious Mr Blair.
Poetry showcase features Nairobi, Roy Oluwasegun and Mizan. Comedy will be provided by Junior Booker, Tommy Armstrong and Shaban Kazim. Live music includes performances by Band Seta (live band), Noel DaCosta, Kirsty Spence, Lula Tatum, Stephan and Zerena Melody. All this entertainment for FREE, now thats what we call PAYBACK!
The bar runs a happy hour (2 for 1 drinks) from 5pm to 9pm and has bar food facilities, so it’s ideal to come down straight after work for a drink and a bite to eat before the fun begins. The show will begin at 8pm and finish at approx 11pm.

For ScriptReadEast’s pre festive festivities we have our last event of the year (and we also celebrate our 2 year birthday !) Of oourse we have our regular host funny man Mr Blair bringing warmth, charm and jokes.
With an eclectic mix of film and theatre scripts read by a wealth of professional actors, there is a definite theme this time round: houses.homes, dwellings. Feature film script ‘ Homestead ‘from Lynwood Shiva Sawyer. Set in New York, 17 year old Zeal is driven from his family home and is taken in by a multi- ethnic, collective urban squat. In disrepair, the Homesteaders must bring the dilapidated building up to code within three weeks, or the City authorities will repossess it.”
Followed by an excerpt from theatre script /drama Peter Briffa’s ’A world outside your window ‘ set in 1985 in a shared house in Wembley, band aid is on and x lovers meet with new partners for an uncomfortable bbq, all is not what it seems ‘
We are also lucky enough to have the talented singer/songwriter Harry Harris to sing a live acoustic set..
